How are we to know what is true or not? We believe what we’re told since youth; only to find out some things were lies ‘for the better of us’. Perhaps it’s to let our imagination flourish or to shield us from this harsh world. A perfect example of this is the belief in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny. We’re told to believe in all of these fantasy characters passed down from generation to generation that allow our little brains to fill with fantastic surprises. Santa brings gifts, the Tooth Fairy gives us money when our teeth fall out to numb the pain, and the Easter Bunny delivers a basket full of goodies every April. At some point later in life as our frontal cortex develops, we begin to have more complex thoughts. We begin to realize the difference between fantasy and reality. We distinguish these blurred lines, sometimes hanging on to Santa a little too long.
This article isn’t about “fake news” in the sense it is being portrayed nowadays, but actual fake news. We simply believe too many things to be true without really questioning or wondering (BE THE WONDERING!) about alternate possibilities.
One of the hottest topics that stayed relevant for 16 years now is 9/11. There was a report that two planes hit the World Trade Center distributed to the world on September 11, 2001. There is no doubt from anyone of the event happening, but how it happened is another question. Millions of people witnessed the towers crumbling, people jumping out of a fiery demise and the loss of loved ones. The previous statement is fact, people died. Since then many have questioned if it was actual planes that hit the buildings or if it was an inside job. There are structural engineers of skyline buildings similar to the World Trade Center that have came out and said there is no way that the planes would have caused the buildings to fall at free fall speed and crumble the way they did. You can find thousands of these reports by typing in “9/11 conspiracy” into YouTube. There are also documentaries on Netflix that give alternate possibilities of what happened; most likely you’ll hear of ‘thermite’ being used as a controlled explosion.
There’s also the theory of the Pentagon being hit with an explosive (rocket/missile) rather than a plane. There is not a video of the plane colliding with the Pentagon, but rather a very vague object. There was a report on 9/10/2001 of Rumsfeld stating of there was $2.3 TRILLION missing from the Pentagon. Coincidentally, the next day the financial office was destroyed. The area destroyed held the records of the missing trillions. Coincidence? There are a lot of facts of explosions and structural buildings that will make you go “hmmm.”
So what is it be a conspiracy theorist? To be called crazy? Isn’t that the PERFECT way to get people to stop talking about it? No one wants to be wrote off as crazy. Picture this. If you committed a crime, it was witnessed, but when approached by someone with what you did, you constantly called him or her a liar or crazy to disprove him or her. Would it work? Likely. They’d begin to question the event. If you called them crazy, had your parents, your significant other, your friends and acquaintances call them crazy, would it work? Very likely. That is what it’s like to question things done by powerful groups that have a following, perhaps the biggest following in the world (the government). At some point you’d even begin to believe your lie. After all, we’re the best at convincing ourselves of something.
Let’s move on to the JFK assassination. There is a lot of evidence of ‘the magic bullet’ coming from a source other than Lee Harvey Oswald. Let’s move pass the shooting. As Oswald was caught and led out of the building he was killed by a true patriot (a nightclub owner), Jack Ruby. Due to Oswald being killed before even going to prison, he was never able to be questioned. After killing Oswald, Ruby was quoted saying he was injected “with a cold” which he believed was some sort of cancer. He died in January 1967 of lung cancer, three years after killing Oswald with his time spent in prison.
Let’s get even deeper. Has anyone ever actually been to the moon? Of course, I cannot answer this. Again, there are documentaries, YouTube videos and books trying to debunk the landings. I am going to list some of the most believed conspiracies. First, how did they transmit moon landings to Earth in the 1970s? There weren't even cell phones then, but they could transmit a signal all the way back to Earth?
The sun is the only light source for the moon, but yet shadows of the photos from moon show different light sources and directions by shadows. Another is that you have to travel through the Van Allen Radiation Belt. Serious armor plating of the aircrafts would need to exist as well as protection from radiation, other than aluminum. Also, how would you get 'film' or a camera through the radiation belt of space, but not able to take film through x-ray machines at the airport?
Also, ALL original film is missing from the landings and all telemetry data of the location of the capsule is missing. This next part is the most comical of all. Apparently in the 1970s there was a shortage of magnetic tape so THEY RECORDED OVER THE ORIGINAL TAPES OF THE MOON LANDING. They recorded over the BIGGEST accomplishment of mankind. You're telling me they couldn't come up with a better excuse?!
The United States of America also 'gifted' the Netherlands a moon rock, which turned out to be petrified wood. You can read more here.
Another is that the first photo from the moon shows the American flag waiving/rippling in the wind. There have been reports from NASA of no existence of wind on the moon. The most puzzling of all, why have we not been back? In 1972, Apolo 17 landed back on Earth. There has not been a lander (person who steps foot on the moon) since. Why? NASA landed 6 aircrafts on the moon in a row, but not since. There hasn’t been a lander, orbiter or rover attempted since October, 2014. NASA’s last mission was September of 2013. This is all public knowledge, yet it’s never questioned. We just take it at face value. Are we too technologically advanced to easily disprove another landing? Remember, the budget for NASA in 2017 was $19,508,000,000 ($19.5 BILLION). Why? For what?
I’m not saying that everything we hear is a conspiracy theory waiting to be debunked, but surely they exist. If you take time to question things, does it become to seem unrealistic? Life is open for interpretation. People struggle their entire lives trying to find out the magic question of, "what is the point of life?" Due to the nature of our lives being open for interpretation, doesn’t that make many subjects open for interpretation? Of any circumstance stated above, do you REALLY know if it occurred the way it was reported or could it be a hoax? I do not know the answer, but I do believe we need to wonder more. Stay woke.
